Coach Tony Mowbray has started making plans for the forthcoming season after a disappointing run that ended in relegation.

The team picked up some form in a late rally but it was not enough to sustain them in the division. The dramatic final day ended with them being pushed to the third tier for the first time since 1980.

As they are preparing for life in the new league, it looks like Kyle Connell would be the first addition to the quad, according to Alan Nixon. The Scot is set to move from Premiership Side Motherwell for Blackburn this summer. The teenage striker is set to be the first signing to head to Ewood Park. The Rovers are seeking a quick return to the English Championship with a reasonable budget.

With Gordon Greer exiting the side, there have been rumours that the Rovers would sign former Port Vale star RemieStreete to replace the 32-year old. The 22-year old defensive player was a high earner so he was released from his deal when it expired.

The player made 37 appearances in the League One for the Valiants before they were relegated to the League Two. He scored five goals for Port Vale and is quite decent for Rovers. The promising star would be a quality addition to the Rovers side who are targeting a return to the Championship.
Other summer signings are expected from Mowbray ahead of the pre season.
