Gary Bowyer reckons his team can still make the playoffs despite being 14 points away from it at this point of time.

Blackburn’s showing at Bournemouth the other day has given Bowyer a bit of hope.

Bournemouth has been a real force at home in the ongoing season and they have won most of their games in front of their crowd.

So, it was supposed to be a tough prospect for Blackburn to go there and get something.

But, not only did they earned a point versus the Cherries, they did so by keeping clean sheet which was a remarkable thing considering the strength of Bournemouth’s striking line.

That result has not helped Blackburn much though in terms of their positioning in the English second division table.
But, they would have been boosted big time.

The satisfaction on Bowyer’s face was telling how much the draw meant for the struggling Rovers.

In the post match interview, the manager said, “I don’t think too many sides have been able to get away without conceding a goal over here in the recent times. We went into it with the right kind of tactics and were pretty organized in our execution.”

“We needed just one strike to get over the line and we came close to that, but, it wasn’t to be. It’s still a pretty good result though. We would have surely taken one point before the game. It was such a tough game against a class opposition.”

When asked if the Rovers have given up on Playoffs or they still think there is a possibility, Bowyer said, “You always have to be hopeful. And, if you see we are not out of the equation mathematically. So, there is no point giving up just yet.”
