Evans keen to finish the season after coronavirus pandemic

Corry Evans has admitted that it will be a very big disappointment if the season did not resume or if it did not get a regular conclusion. Blackburn were in a great position when the season had to be suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic. The team was just three points away from the top six positions with 27 points to play. As a result, the team had the momentum necessary to get back into the play-offs and compete for a return back to the top flight. Now, however, the season has been suspended and the potential date for resumption has been pushed back with every week.

Tony Mowbray who is the current manager for Blackburn Rovers made statements on Jacob Davenport. The manager stated that Jacob has to go a long way for returning to action as a first-team player for the club. He also said though he has resumed his training sessions, he needs to take a lot of effort to come back to the field.

Davenport was taken up recently as a prime midfielder by the club. Before, he used to play for Manchester City, the Premier League Champions. Davenport joined Blackburn Rovers last summer under a deal for four years at Ewood Park. The debut season was not at all fruitful for Jacob and it was quite frustrating for him. He also could not appear as a senior player till the time when Blackburn did a 2-2 draw on the final day against Swansea City for the league season because of his injury issues. The midfielder faced a lot of setbacks during the summer. He suffered injury for his ankle ligament in a pre-season behind closed doors game against Macclesfield Town.

Charlton Athletic defender Patrick Bauer has revealed that he is set to leave the club on a free transfer this summer. The sturdy defender had been one of the stalwart in the club becoming a cult hero with the fans.
His tough tackling and uncompromising attitude to defending made him a regular in the team and the player revealed on Twitterhis decision.

Bauer had been linked to a number of clubs including Wigan Athletic, Preston North End and Blackburn Rovers. In his message in Twitter Bauer expressed his gratitude to the club for the love and support showed to him during his time at the club.

The latest round of Championship fixtures saw Blackburn Rovers entertain Derby County at Ewood Park on Tuesday in a crucial game for both sides. Frank Lampard led Derby were seeking an important win in their late bid to make the playoffs. While Tony Mowbray’s Rovers was looking to consolidate on their mid-table position.

Both managers set up their teams to attack in the game on a cold Tuesday night but Blackburn came out victorious in a hard fought 2-0 victory. Derby started well with some missed chances early in the first half as they looked to make a quick start. Harry Wilson had their best opportunity at the end of a quick counterattack but the on-loan Liverpool forward fired just wide of the post.

Blackburn Rovers, the team occupying the fourteenth position in the sky bet championship with a score of 43 points was supposed to be in the playoffs, but they drifted down the ranking due to 3 consecutive defeats.

The match on the 17th of February is a crucial match and so the coach, Tony Mowbray made a lot of changes to the team.
