Blackburn supporters wants to meet Owners Personally

The supporters feel that all the noise that they are making so far is falling on deaf ears. So, the only way left for them now to get themselves heard is by meeting the owners in person.

The supporters are supposed to tell the owners, if they meet them, that they can’t let them keep the hold of the club anymore as they don’t think they are deserving of that.

But, because Blackburn owners are one of the very powerful businessmen in India, they can be reached only through appointments and it’s unlikely that their office would be giving any appointments to the travelling supporters and thus, the supporters might not be able to meet them at all.

The supporters themselves know that their visit might turn out to be worthless, yet they are ready to take that chance as they aren’t left with sufficient patience to endure this kind of situation at the club.

According to a supporter named Paul, if it was only about results on the pitch, the supporters would have kept patience, but, the thing is that even if the club goes on a winning run of 10 matches at the moment, the supporters’ protest will not stop because they are protesting against how the owners are working and not against how the team is playing.

Paul angrily complains that the owners don’t remain in Britain for a single minute and call all the shots from home. The members of the board who are here to see the affairs don’t have any authority and have been forbidden from taking any call without the permission from India.

BLACKBURN ROVERS CRASH OUT OF EFL CUP

Blackburn Rovers were knocked out of the English Football League (EFL) as Leeds United got a late winner to advance to the next stage.

The game played on Elland Road witnessed a heroic praise for Chris Wood who got his sixth goal already for Leeds this campaign. His efforts were stopped until he got the 85th minute game winner through a rebound header. The 24-year old striker scored against Blackburn when they met in the League on September 13, and scored again within a week to end the hopes of Rovers.

His efforts were stopped until he got the 85th minute game winner through a rebound header. The 24-year old striker scored against Blackburn when they met in the League on September 13, and scored again within a week to end the hopes of Rovers.

Both sides approached the game making 16 changes between them from the squad that featured last week. The first half was generally dull, but the spark came on in the second half as the managers made good attacking changes. Rovers lost a huge chance when the efforts of substitute Marvin Emnes was saved by goalkeeper Marco Silvestri. That would have given them a huge boost. However, Wood didn’t lose his chance when Leeds had their chance. After an initial attempt was saved, his rebound sent the weary fans wild in jubilation.

Leeds assistant coach Pep Clotet said: “We’re delighted because it was a hard start to the season. We worked very hard. The commitment of the players has always been there and their hard work has paid off with three wins in a row.” He added that they would not get over their heads especially as they know how hard it is to win Championship games. He added that they would keep fighting for the club as they have the tools to stand up no matter the setback.

Owen Coyle admitted that Rovers feel “aggrieved” to be out of the cup. He said the team put up a good performance considering the number of changes made. Leeds had more possession and shots on target in the affair.

Blackburn Rovers is in the process of interviewing managers

Paul Lambert was the latest manager to take charge of Blackburn Rovers but on April 28 of 2016, he opted to trigger a clause in his contract that allowed him to leave the club after the last match during the season of 2015-16.

Blackburn Rovers is now working to appoint the next manager as the head officials of the club have been interviewing candidates that might have what it takes to succeed Paul Lambert and try to push the club back to the Premier League.

For the past few years, Blackburn Rovers has been performing in the League Championship which is the 2nd tier league of England but they used to compete in the Premier League back in the season of 2011-12, however, after being relegated they have not managed to make a return.

The next manager that is officially selected to coach Blackburn Rovers will have his work cut out for him as there a number of things that the tactician has to do after being confirmed.

One of the things that the manager will have to do is deciding on the future of around 8 players that have their contracts on the brink of expiring and now the club has to find out whether or not to offer those players a contract extension.

Those players that have an undecided future are: Simon Eastwood, Tommy Spurr, Matt Kilgallon, Lee Williamson, Chris Taylor, Simeon Jackson and Nathan Delfouneso. All of these players will turn into free agents in the summer unless they receive and decide to pen a contract extension.

One of the managers that is on the short-list of potential candidates to take up the hot seat in Blackburn Rovers is Gareth Ainsworth who is currently in charge of the League Two club Wycombe Wanderers.

Blackburn Rovers have a lot of financial restrictions

Blackburn Rovers have a lot of financial restrictions imposed upon them and it is starting to hurt their promotion aspirations.

Blackburn Rovers have a lot of financial restrictions imposed upon them and it is starting to hurt their promotion aspirations.

The club have only around 15 top-level players registered, while manager Gary Bowyer cannot bring in any more signings other than loan moves or free transfers. Even those transfers have to be earning less than £10,000 per week in the financial restrictions. Amidst such tight regulations, Blackburn also have to be concerned about the future of players like Jordan Rhodes. The forward is one of the saleable asset in the club. He has been linked with moves to top Championship clubs.

Bowyer says that despite the tough situation, he is prepared to wait and bring in quality name to the club. During this period, the manager is also concerned about the arrival of players who are merely there to add up the numbers. Instead, he wants to sign players want to play for the club more than anything else. Along with the likes of QPR, Blackburn face potential relegation down to League One if they do not improve the squad strength immediately. The new season begins in less than three weeks and Blackburn are certainly not in the best possible shape to take upon Wolves in the opening game.

“We must have the smallest established outfield playing squad of the 92 League clubs but we’re trying ever so hard. I’d like to assure the supporters that it’s not through a lack of trying. We’re under these restrictions and we’re getting gazumped on one or two because of the financial implications of it.It does annoy you, it does frustrate you, because a lot of work goes into it, but you’ve just got to cross them off the list and move on to the next one. We’ve got rid of players that we felt didn’t contribute to that environment,” said Bowyer.

Rovers ready to return to the Promised Land

Nearly 20 years ago Blackburn Rovers won the Premier League title, and remain one of five clubs to have managed that achievement. This was before the days of billionaire, foreign owners in England’s top flight, high television revenues and sponsorship deals.

Currently, they are just one point off the play-offs in the Championship and 5/1 to secure promotion back to the promised land of Premier League football. It has been a turbulent couple of years at the Rovers, with supporter opposition towards their owners, the Venky’s rife at one point, however, this seems to have simmered significantly recently.

On their fourth manager in four years, Gary Bowyer seems to be gradually bringing stability back to the club, and has found a way to get the team playing. Jordan Rhodes, arguably one of the brightest talents in the team is scoring freely, and has netted five times so far this term, one behind fellow striker Rudy Gestede, and is 11/1 to be the Championship top scorer.

They have taken eight points from a possible 12 in their last run of matches, including a surprise, and morale-boosting 3-1 win away at fellow play-off hopefuls Nottingham Forest last time out. They take on Ipswich at Ewood Park next, knowing that three points could take them to fourth in the league, if other results go their way. Gestede is 5/1 to open the scoring, while Rhodes is priced at 7/2 in the same market.

Undoubtedly, the ultimate aim is to reinstate themselves back as a Premier League club, and so far Bowyer appears to be doing exactly what is needed. Rhodes may not hit the heights of ex-Rovers legend Shearer, though he certainly has the talent to help the club achieve their immediate aims.

Blackburn Fails To Capitalise On Good Form

Blackburn Rovers failed to make the most out of the form that they have had in recent weeks after only managing a draw with Yeovil town. Both teams failed to score throughout the 90 minutes in what was a dull affair. Blackburn came into the match after having been unbeaten in the last nine matches of the championship. This good run of form has helped them get back into contention for a play-off place with only a handful of matches left in the season. Blackburn have been expected to challenge for promotion spot at the start of the season.

This good run of form has helped them get back into contention for a play-off place with only a handful of matches left in the season. Blackburn have been expected to challenge for promotion spot at the start of the season.

However, there were lying mid-table during the middle of the season and this posed a lot of questions about the future of manager Gary Bowyer at the club. After the match, the manager admitted that the draw was a disappointing result. However, he felt that his players appeared to nervous during the 90 minutes to take advantage of a Yeovil town team that is struggling near the foot of the table. Yeovil are almost certain to be relegated to the League One. The points dropped from this encounter could come back to haunt Blackburn, who will be aware that the race for the play-offs is extremely tight.

“If you look at all the lads in terms of the performances that they’ve produced over the season, then they’ve not reached those standards that they know they can. We looked a little bit nervy, we passed it off when somebody might have taken that opportunity to shoot. We said before the game that there would be no easy match, we knew Yeovil would come to try and nick a point and they’ve done it. We haven’t been cute enough in the final third today and that is it, we huffed and puffed. But we can’t sulk, we can’t feel sorry for ourselves,” said the manager.

BLACKBURN MUST IMPROVE

Blackburn Rovers finished the past season on the 17th spot and are now seeing their way into the top 12 spots of the Championship and according to the head coach of the club, Gary Bowyer it is a huge improvement which shows that his club and players are improving.

Bowyer said: “You could say we’ve won one in eight but that’s a negative mindset and I can’t deal with people who have got a negative mindset’’.

“This time last year we were talking about staying in the division so the progress that has been made has been good. The people we’ve brought into the club have been good and they will just get better the more and more time they spend together as unit’’.

Adam Hanley is a 19 years old youngster who has over 13 appearances for Blackburn Rovers in the league and he revealed that there has been a big difference in the squad from what it used to be a year ago.

Hanley said: “We’ve come a long way in the last year if you look at the situation we found ourselves in a year ago. I think it’s important that we look at that and see how far we’ve come as a team, a group and a club, and as long as we stick together we can only go forward.

“The club is totally different to a year ago; it’s a much better place to be. I know we’d like to be higher up the league, and I think we’re probably unlucky not to be, but we’re still a young team who has only been put together this season. There’s still a lot of work to do but I’m sure we’ll get it right.”

If Blackburn Rovers manages on picking up positive results in the remaining few matches of the season, it will be a good outcome and campaign for Gary Bowyer and his players.

MORRIS MOVES ON

Blackburn Rovers has offloaded Josh Morris to Fleetwood Town on a 1 month loan deal.

“I’ve been on the bench a lot at Blackburn and not played. I’m at a stage of my career where I need to play as many games as I can. It’s a great opportunity.” Morris told BBC Radio Lancashire.

Morris has already spent 2 seasons out on loan to Yeovil Town and Rotherham United as his parent club Blackburn Rovers wants him to gain experience somewhere outside of the Championship league.

While Josh Morris has made his way out of Blackburn Rovers for 1 month, Rovers managed on signing a few players that are hoping to boost the squad and their hopes of earning promotion into the Premier League.

Rovers have added to their squad, the Serbian goalkeeper Obren Cuckovic who has already represented his country and the other player that will be joining the Championship club Blackburn Rovers is the 30 years old forward of Golden Arrows, Peter Wadabwa.

A staff member that works closely with Blackburn Rovers expressed his emotions about their latest 2 signings.

“With these two new guys the team will be completely different. Cuckovic is like a giant, he won two league titles with Tanzania’s Young Africans and played in the African Champions League.”

Blackburn Rovers are located in the middle section of the Championship league standings. It does not look like they will be able to snatch a promotion spot that would allow them to fight against the best teams in England in the Premier League but a positive note for Rovers is that they are safe from the bottom relegation zone and the more players they manage to sign will give them a better chance on securing a higher spot for the upcoming season.

Blackburn Rovers need to sell footballers

Gary Bowyer said that he would have to bring forth some money before he could reinforce his team and bring in new footballers. The Blackburn Rovers manager would have to take out footballers before team owners Venky’s allow him sign new footballers.

Derek Shaw, the managing director and Gary Bowyer met the team owners in India and they were told that they have a limited fund for a loan signing. Instead, Blackburn would look to arouse money with sales. They team lost # 36.5 million in the past financial year.

Captain Scott Dann could be a shock exit, but at less than the # 6 million they wanted in the summer for him. At present, Blackburn Rovers are putting average performance in the Championship. They are now at thirteenth spot following fifteen matches.

Hanley, the defender of Blackburn Rovers, has withdrawn from Scotland team for tomorrow’s match against Norway. He withdrew because of injury. According to reports, Hanley has been undergoing some compactness in his hamstring since Friday’s match with United States and has now came back to Blackburn Rovers, who would evaluate centre back in the following few days.

Before Hanley’s pulling out, the Scot stated that he got on quite well with Morten at Rovers. He was in the squad when he made his debut. He added that he is one of the top pros he has ever seen.

STRUGGLING

Blackburn Rovers have failed to win a match in the last three of all competitions after the 0-0 draw with Huddersfield during the weekend.

Despite this disappointing result, manager Gary Bowyer choose to remain positive and has said that he is confident of taking three points in the next league match. Blackburn are expected to be promotion contenders for this season after only narrowly avoiding relegation last season. However, the fortunes have not much changed for the team, who continue to be blighted by off field incidents.

However, the fortunes have not much changed for the team, who continue to be blighted by off field incidents.

After the weekend’s result, the club are 15th on the table with just nine points from the opening eight matches. This average of just one point a match is unlikely to see the challenge for promotion spot, but Bowyer is not willing to get depressed by the recent run of results. He has said that fans should look at the positives from this draw, as there were several chances for the likes of Jordan Rhodes that would have been converted on any other day. Blackburn also dominated possession, but they were unable to convert the dominance on the ball into a victory.

Bowyer will be looking to get three points from the next match, which will be away to Bournemouth. This is likely to be a difficult match given Bournemouth’s recent form.
“For all our dominance in possession, our goalkeeper has made the best save of the game so we’ve got to give him credit for that. His concentration levels were fantastic. With his [Rhodes] quality we’re being greedy thinking it’s a great chance but it isn’t. He’s done magnificently well in the last three games with his (broken) hand and the shape he’s in but he hasn’t moaned. I’m happy with the clean sheet because it’s our first of the season,” said Bowyer.
